Real Time Farms

Just found out about a website called Real Time Farms. I’ve only quickly checked it out, but honestly, how can I not like something that tries to connect people to real food and farms? Right off the bat I have to admit that I like the design and overall vibe of the site.

Now onto some basic facts: Real Time Farms is a “nationwide local food guide.” It aims to help people understand where their food comes from. You can learn about farms in your area, and see where you can get their goods at farmers markets, farm stands, and locally sourced restaurants around you. You can discover what’s fresh near you in real time and find out what farm fresh goods are available now.
If you sign up as a member on the website (which is free) you can share pictures of your local farmers markets and farm stands and you can add and/or edit information on your local farmers markets and farms.
I know there are a lot of different resources out there for this sort of thing, but I think it’s good to have them all. Connecting consumers to food producers is a mission I totally support.
By the way, Real Time Farms is on Twitter and Facebook.
