Hello and welcome! I’m Alicia. I’m a business owner, wife, cat mom, and most importantly, a passionate home cook. Here on Local Food Rocks, I share my kitchen, gardening, and food adventures.

My mission is to inspire you to see food as more than fuel but rather an experience that connects us to the land and each other. My recipes are simple and focus on seasonal ingredients. I also share kitchen tips and product recommendations. And, since I also love to explore and travel, occasional restaurant reviews are also part of this blog.

I was the culinary columnist for the Tribuna Newspaper, a monthly trilingual print and online publication in Connecticut.

I’ve been a featured guest on WTNH’s CT Style and Good Morning Connecticut.


My husband, Renato, is my partner in crime (and my photographer). As you can tell, he’s the rocker of this duo. We are pretty much always together and are always ready to eat some good food and tell a good story.
