Fridays at the Farm from Coyopa Productions on Vimeo.
As per my usual Sunday morning routine: coffee in one hand, cat waiting to curl up on my lap, I plopped down in front of the TV. I once again found myself on the Sundance channel and caught this wonderful short called Fridays At The Farm.
I know it was produced back in 2006, but if you haven’t seen it – you should. It’s the personal essay of a father musing on food, family, and community.
As the producer describes it: “Feeling disconnected from their food, a filmmaker and his family, decide to join a community-supported organic farm. As he photographs the growing process, the filmmaker moves from passive observer to active participant in the planting and harvesting of vegetables.”
From a technical standpoint, the piece is also beautifully produced, featuring time-lapse and macro photography sequences compiled from nearly 20,000 still images.
