This Saturday there is a wonderful event presented by the Connecticut Herb Association: HerbFest at Pleasantview Farms in Somers, CT. It’s a celebration and education honoring the many gifts provided by herbs. There are a ton of workshops about growing, cooking and healing with herbs, live entertainment, fun stuff for children, plant walks, vendors of all sorts, and of course, food!
One of the speakers that day is Carole Miller, owner of Topmost Herb Farm in Coventry, CT. She grows heirloom tomato plants, a variety of perennials and annuals, and herbs in her greenhouse and gardens. She’s really a wealth of knowledge, and in fact, used to host HerbFest at her farm. (And, yes, I did feature her in an episode of The Natural Princes.)
If you’re up that way definitely check it out. It costs $10, goes from 9am to 4pm, and is rain or shine. For more info visit the HerbFest website.
