Get ready… This weekend is the Taste of Danbury, a two day food and music event held on the Citycenter Green.
Taste of Danbury is always fun, but this year it’s going to be off the hook. Why?
Well, on Saturday, Sept. 14th from 2 to 5pm there is going to be an Afternoon Block Party put on by Chef Plum of Plum Luv Foods in Newtown and Pro Player Insiders. Chef Plum has been featured on the Food Network, ABC’s The Taste, Jamie Oliver’s Foodtube and Ehow.com.

Jeanette from Jeanette’s Healthy Living (bottom middle) and me
will be at the Taste of Danbury this Saturday, Sept. 14th.
I’m going to be there and so are fellow Connecticut food folks, Sarah from Sarah’s Cucina Bella and Jeannette from Jeanette’s Healthy Living. There will be cooking demos, food competitions, giveaways and penny beer tastings by Two Roads Brewing Co. and more! Williams Sonoma Danbury will be on hand. Plus, with Pro Player Insiders on hand, you never what current and former pro athletes may be joining the party too.
What’s on my demo menu? I figure since September is Oktoberfest month it’s only appropriate to go with a German-inspired recipe. Now as much as we (well at least I) would like to try – one can’t live on beer and brats alone. To ensure we’re getting all the major food groups into our German feast, I’m planning on demonstrating how to make a German Horseradish Cole Slaw. This tangy, zesty, crunchy slaw is the perfect match for all those fatty brats. Oh, and there’s bacon in it.
Hope to see you there!
