Sustainable Connecticut

I often feel a bit overwhelmed with blogs, articles, news and publications all about my beloved local/sustainable food habit. Now there is a new magazine to add to my reading list: Sustainable Connecticut. It’s the first official publication of Sustainable The Magazine.

As it says on their Facebook page, the magazine is the creation of like-minded professionals who have come together, on a volunteer basis, to do their part in saving our planet. They hope the magazine becomes a leading voice of the local food movement and a go-to source for all things sustainable.

They profile the local/sustainable food movers and shakers. In the inaugural issue: The cover story is about Annie Farrell of Millstone Farm in Wilton. There is a feature story about John Turenne of Sustainable Food Systems and his mission to makeover school food. Analiese Paik from the Fairfield Green Food Guide is a contributing writer and Bill Duesing, the executive director of CT NOFA, wrote an article all about lettuce.

Check out a preview of the magazine in the April issue of Connecticut Cottages & Gardens or just go to the digital version. In addition, you can find Sustainable The Magazine on Facebook and follow them on Twitter too.
