Urban Oaks Organic Farm in New Britain, CT is having a grand opening celebration and fundraiser for their new farm store Saturday, May 2nd from 3-5 pm. Sounds like it’s going to be a great time with local chefs, guest speakers and live music!

Urban Oaks is an inner-city organic farm that was literally begun to help save a neighborhood. The farm is situated on 2 1/2 acres with giant greenhouses on what was an abandoned florist site in downtown New Britain. Owned by the non-profit Urban Oaks Community Development Corporation, they’re dedicated to growing top-quality, certified organic fresh produce, year-round, for restaurants, specialty markets, and the local community. They grow an amazing array of fruits and veggies. The salad mix is seriously delicious!
