The Environmental Working Group recently released the 5th edition of their Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides.
The Guide lists the 47 most commonly eaten fruits and vegetables ranked in the order of their pesticide-residue contamination. The “Dirty Dozen” are the twelve most contaminated fruits and veggies. These are the ones you definitely want to prioritize to “go organic”. The “Clean 15” are the least contaminated.
The EWG said that if you avoid eating the “Dirty Dozen” and instead eat the “Clean 15”, you could lower your pesticide exposure by almost 80 percent! Wow!
Get the details about how they developed the guide and be sure to download it. AND, don’t forget to bring it with you the next time you go shopping!
