Great event coming up to help remind state leaders that NO FARMS = NO FOOD
What: ‘SPEAK UP FOR AGRICULTURE!’
When: March 18th, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Where: On the steps of the Connecticut Capitol Building
Where: On the steps of the Connecticut Capitol Building
The event is an opportunity to remind state leaders that we cannot afford to cut funding for farmland protection, ignore the financial plight of dairy farmers, eliminate farm business grants, or repeal tax exemptions on seeds and farm equipment.
Throughout the morning you can visit with dozens of agriculture organizations that will have displays in the Hall of Flags for the annual ‘Ag Day at the Capitol’.
After the Rally participants are welcome to attend an indoor press conference at 10:30 to help demonstrate wide support for a critical source of agriculture funding The Community Investment Act.
You can also join one of the small grassroots teams from your county to meet legislators during pre-scheduled face-to-face appointments between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. If interested, send your name and email to Amanda Freund: amandaf@cfba.org
